I mentioned in my last 2 posts about the trek and temple visit; in the same journey I got to explore some more places around the temple. There are caves near by the temple of which one of them you can only see from the outside and explore some parts of it, whereas the other one is an archeological site. These are very ancient Buddhist caves. The part of the caves which goes underground has been closed down. Especially during the rainy season, it is a risky site to visit. These caves can be seen from my home, they are far away but I do get a glimpse of it, so when I reached there trekking I was very excited as it felt like a big achievement trekking up to that height and so far.
The top level of the caves is closed right now due to rains. There is water continuously dripping here in parts of the caves. Again, this is an architecture marvel of the olden times. A lot of tourists and locals visit here for the temple, since there is good faith of this place. You can see that there are so many people in this place. Majority of them have come for the temple visit. The caves were empty.
From my home, I can see these caves, I have marked up the area. Whenever I looked at it, I was feeling like, I have to go here and finally the mission is accomplished
The openings have an underground path, they have been closed down for public.
Mind your head while you explore this place
There is an upward path also but even that's closed down, there were too many accidents happening in this place so almost every part of the cave has been shut down except for the open ground level. From the small openings nothing could be seen as it's pitch dark inside.
There is nothing much to explore in these caves except for the adventure that you feel visiting here and yes it is a ancient site so you get that feel of transporting back in time.
