We absolutely have to talk about media bias and lies.

Florida has been the target of national news over a fake "don't say gay" bill for weeks. That's not what the bill says, that's just what they're reporting. People are freaking out about a widespread lie.

In order to get information on New Jersey's law regarding putting prisoners in a correctional facility based on gender identity rather than biological sex and the consequences of that law, you've gotta dig through local news sources and a handful of conservative sources. It actually wasn't particularly easy for me to find a link of the full text of the law; but, I did.

There's no mainstream media attention placed on this law; but, it basically makes it illegal for state employees to question whether or not a felon is telling the truth about his or her gender identity.

What's in the law coupled with what was seemingly deliberately left out of the law creates a scenario that's bound to happen in New Jersey because it has happened in different states and countries that have enacted laws with similar language.

If a man rapes a woman and gets caught and convicted and sentenced to prison, all he needs to to is say that he identifies as non-binary and that he goes by they/them pronouns and that he wants to be sent to a woman's prison. Any and all employees in the correctional system have to abide by the prisoner's demands.

It is not acceptable under New Jersey's law, for any employee of correctional system to raise his or her hand and any point and say, "I don't think that this rapist is trans or non-binary. I think that he's a straight man who raped a woman and he wants to spend his fifteen years in prison with a female roommate that he can abuse at will "

The New Jersey bill also only uses language of options and accesses for trans and non-binary prisoners, no requirements. There's access to gender affirming care, up to and including surgery, but no requirement. There's an obligation of the state to allow trans and non-binary prisoners the option to shower separately; but, there's no requirement that they shower separately. A man who has fully functional male genitals can opt to shower with women even if he's in prison for murder or rape. All he needs to do is say, "I'm non-binary." and the discussion is over.

Where are the mainstream media on this?
