This live example shows what happens when bearish situations do not develop as projected, and rather the instrument defies the bearish potential signals. What happens is that the exact opposite tends to take place (in this case the Brazilian market went on to recover and rally). This is a good reason why protective stops are important and also why we should also rely on the charts for indication of what is happening moment to moment.
Here the price never broke down and the 13 week moving average versus the 34 week moving average crossover was negated weeks later - leading to a bullish crossover and subsequent price advance.
