TORNADOES Touch Down in DIMMITT Texas on Good Friday 04-14-2017

Multiple tornadoes touched down on 04-14-2017 near Dimmitt, Texas on Good Friday, 04-14-2017. Storm Chaser Aaron Jayjack documented multiple tornado types - it was a NaderPalooza! - multivortex, wedges, cones, twins, ropes... an unbelievable day for a low risk day for Tornadoes. But April and Drylines are like Butter and Toast.

For the impatient not interested in the story, the RAW highlight video can be found here:

The day started out rather modest, with this first tweet from Storm Chaser Aaron Jayjack:

Around 3:45 PM CST, Aaron Jayjack reported from the Texas Panhandle that storms were starting to fire.

Within an hour, things began to ramp up:

The day began to unfold as a potential tornadic day:

After two hours of storm tracking, Aaron Jayjack tracked this beauty down, getting within 1/4 mile of the vortex as it touched down:

Then we got multi-vortexes as Aaron Jayjack Live Streamed the event at severestudios.com/livechase - this photo was captured by a viewer of the live stream (Christopher Howell).

Then Aaron captured Twins:

An incredible day on an incredibly low risk day as forecast by the SPC (Storm Prediction Center). When April and May are here, you chase the dryline. You enjoy the chase regardless of what happens. Because every once and awhile, you come across not just one easter egg, but an entire basket full of easter eggs.
