Tamil Nadu government has introduced a new type of ration card i.e. e – ration card which has replaced the traditional ration cards in Tamil Nadu. E – Ration cards are basically smart ration cards which is the modified version of a regular ration card. These ration cards are available in the official website of Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System i.e. https://www.tnpds.gov.in/
Tamil Nadu government has taken this step of improvising old ration cards in order to take a step towards digitization.
State government will automatically convert old ration cards into smart ration cards. For that a PIN will be sent on your registered mobile number and they can collect their smart ration cards from your nearest PDS (Public Distribution System) office just by showing the SMS you have received.

How to Make the Corrections in TNPDS Ration Card
We have mentioned a step – by – step guide through which you can correct or update anything you wish to change on your ration card.
Follow the below mentioned steps for the same:
Visit the official website of TNPDS (Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System) i.e. https://www.tnpds.gov.in/
Click on the “Beneficiary Login” and you will be redirected to a new log in page
Enter the registered mobile number and the OTP (One Time Password) which you have received on your registered mobile number
Provide the OTP and log in to your account
Click on the “Smart card details edit”. Look for the details which are incorrect and you wish to correct, click on the edit option and change the details
Upload the required documents
Submit the form once you have done all the changes and you will receive an acknowledgement number.
Click on the acknowledgement number in order to accept the corrections and click on the “Submit for Approval”
After the complete submission of the corrections, you are provided with a reference number which will help you track down the application status
