Tim Burton in Mexico City

America bring to Mexico one of the most iconic contemporary visual artist in the world of films and art, Tim Burton.

This time Burton could enjoy the city and other states; he visited Guanajuato to see the momias, and he went to the lucha libre where he met in person many of his favorite luchadores.

The exhibition at Museo Franz Mayer was quite expensive for most of the people- more than 300 pesos. Many people that could not afford to see it, they went to appreciate some of the sculptures and photos that were placed on Reforma, one step away from the angel. The sculptures were painted by some Mexican artist, the photographs show some images from Burton´s movies and some show him in Mexico, and I guess some others were taken by him.

My favorite piece the one created by Huichol hands, a supreme piece, that remind us that Mexico is full of culture and history.

In the future, I hope he could bring a bigger free exhibition, so more people can appreciate the fascinating world that he creates with his mind, a fantasy that remind us of our first years of life in this wonderful world. IMG_4022.JPGIMG_4026.JPG
