This is one of the concepts from BMW that saw a production version come out eventually. The i8 is the final product that came out as a result of this concept car. Vision EfficientDynamics Concept was an experimental design that caught eyeballs all over the world.

The experimental concept had a 1.5 liter 3-cylinder turbodiesel engine and two-electric motors. It was a hybrid-concept that was able to produce 356 hp and was supposed to do 63 miles on a gallon of diesel fuel. It gets the name EfficientDynamics from its thermo-electric generator that is capable of converting the heat emitted by it's exhaust system to about 200w of electric power.

BMW also employed F1 aerodynamics in the development of the car to make its design as slippery as possible to ensure it had excellent dynamics. Overall a great concept that made to production as the i8. Another interesting bit of history from the world of BMW!
