Lock and Key
#inspiredby - @katrina-ariel
Too often the mask of necessity
glues to the dance of its destiny
it chooses to bear the complexity
and cages itself like a memory.
Imprisoned wings get tattered and torn
like a butterfly that gets caught in a storm
though once dried, from the sun's warmth
they're never the same, but beauty's reborn.
Often sullen and sad, though it may be
once flight is taken the awakening
sheds new light despite the captivity
and fully exacts the demand- to fly free.
