El popular tequeño, es un minúsculo pasapalo con el cual nos identificamos todos los venezolanos, pues forma parte de la gastronomía tradicional venezolana, y se ha convertido incluso en el favorito, por lo que no puede dejar de estar presente en la mesa a la hora de fiestas, celebraciones, compartir, entre otros.
Algunas fuentes señalan que su origen está ubicado en Los Teques, capital del estado Miranda - Venezuela, mientras otras insisten en señalar como su lugar de nacimiento el Barrio El Teque, en la Parroquia Altagracia en Caracas (Venezuela). En cualquier caso nadie duda que en este nuevo milenio el favoritismo por el tequeño apenas ha cambiado. El tradicional pasapalo ha evolucionado y encontrado nuevos compañeros: salsas, melaos, chutneys, picantes son parte de la bandeja que todos esperan en la fiesta.
