Full Diclosure:
The last few years of "faux airdrops"; that is, campaigns promoted as true airdrops - a la Auroracoin, XLM, Uniswap, etc. - but are actually predatory ploys on crypto newbies in order to get a buttload of free advertising, an army of unpaid sales staff cum evangelical recruiters and a big black book of personal information/future customers. The usual, slimy modus operandi of these operations include requiring the "airdrop recipient" to complete a dozen assinine tasks; while promising "lucrative" - aka unsustainable - rewards of their shitcoin at the end of the rainbow/gauntlet.) turned me off of Telegram a long time ago.
Those Telegram Fanboy "Rah-Rah" spiels and all the ugly FUD slinging was simply not my cup of tea, but impossible to avoid on the platform; hence, I never got caught up in the early Telegram/TON euphoria.
Lucky for me, I guess...
