Claymore's Ethereum Miner guide

Claymore's Ethereum Miner guide

Hello! This is a small guide on how to set up your Ethereum miner.

  1. First you need to download Claymore's Ethereum Dual Nvidia+AMD Miner, which you can do here.
    • If you are using R9 280X I suggest you mine Zcash or Zclassic instead, Ethereum is not profitable. See my Equihash guide here!
  2. Extract the folder where ever you want on your computer.
  3. Get a wallet for the coin you're going to mine. In my example it's Ethereum Classic Web Wallet.
  4. Find a pool where you want to mine, for example if you're mining Ethereum Classic you could use Nanopool.org or epool.io.
    • Go to Help>Pool Settings, copy the ip address and stratum port for the pool. For example, "etc-eu1.nanopool.org:19999" for Europe.
  5. Go back to the folder where you extracted your miner. Create a new txt-document. Write for example:
    • setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
      setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
      setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
      setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
      setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
      EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool etc-eu1.nanopool.org:19999 -ewal Wallet_Adress/Worker_Name/Your_Email

    • Change -epool to the IP of your pool

    • Change -ewal to your wallet address. Worker name and e-mail are optional.

    • Change -epsw to your worker password (if you have one).

    • Adjust -cclock, -mclock and -tstop to clocks and temperature that you are comfortable with.

  6. Always monitor temperatures and hash rate. Don't let your GPU run at high temperatures, this will cause damage to your GPU and monitor hash rate because if your hash rate is lower than usual you might have to restart the miner or reset your GPU-drivers.

You are good to go! Here's a Equihash GPU hardware comparison I wrote earlier, in case you don't have RX 4xx GPU. STEEMIT POST

Note: Remember that adjusting voltages of your GPU might fry the hardware. Never adjust voltages if you're inexperienced, read up on overclocking before experimenting. Here's my 280x overclocking guide
