NYPD to switch from Windows phone to iPhone

Microsoft will lose 36,000 users after the NYPD announced that it will switch its Windows devices to iPhones.

It was only in 2016 that the New York police made the move to Windows phone because it would go together with a video surveillance software. But after hearing the recent news that Windows will stop supporting the platform, they decided to move all their users to iPhones.

Employees of the NYPD will be offered the choice between iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. At the moment, the roll out is happening with 600 iPhones per day, starting in Manhattan, moving up to Brooklyn and Queens.
