Asgardia
The first country in space

This might sound more like science fiction than reality. But there are some people that actually want to make it happen. The concept is very straight forward: Build a space station in space and make it a country. How cool is that? They even have their own laws and constitution. And you can vote for the constitution even right now. (With the only option being yes of course). The name "Asgardia" comes from Norse mythology which means "city in the sky." They have made some real tangible progress and they are planning on placing a satellite in space! The satellite will be called "Asgardia 1" and it will be used as a data storage device managed and operated in space.
