Amazon plans to buy Slack

According to Bloomberg, the US start-up Slack would have been contacted by the e-commerce giant for a possible acquisition of its professional messaging software. It is a collaborative platform simply called Slack and is specially dedicated to companies. Now very popular, it allows employees to communicate quickly via instant messaging.

According to Bloomberg, the buying back of Slack would be estimated at almost ten billion dollars. However, it would seem that the young company still prefers to remain vigilant. The latest news is that negotiations are still going on. It is not yet known whether the operation will succeed.

Last year, Microsoft also offered to buy Slack for eight billion dollars. Negotiations, however, had not succeeded, as the firm of Bill Gates had finally decided to buy back LinkedIn.

With Slack, Amazon would have the ambition to offer its own enterprise messaging software and compete with Microsoft Office 365 and G Suite from Google.
