#8 Daily dose of tech - Web Services from Google that you should know about and use (PART 1)

I'm introducing couple of Google Services in this post as they offer great solutions for every day usage.

Google Scholar

https://scholar.google.fi/

Must-have source of articles, scholarly literature and different journals. Try searching with a keyword (Bitcoin for example) and explore articles about the topics you're interested in. Some of the articles are not free though.

Google Books

https://books.google.com/

Looking for a book?  Google Books is a serach engine for digital books (scanned, pdfs...). Books are available for purchase whereas lots of books is offered for free. You can also read reviews, abstracts and create own library.

Google Trends

https://trends.google.com/trends/

Web Search statistics with different visualization options, comparisons and other cool features. It can show popularity of certain search term over time, shows areas that are most interested in this term on the map and which language was used while searching for the term. You can also explore all the related news for this search term.

Google Alerts

https://www.google.com/alerts

Based on your search term, service sends you email notifications whenever there's something new about it. Quite good option if you like reading your emails instead of browsing through the news or reading newspaper.

That's it for today, there's still lot to cover but I like to keep it simple and short. Try those services and let me know what you think :)
