*I Love my job*

When God gives you talent it is for the edification of your society and the people who come in contact with you. As a teacher of Pre- technical drawing, the only subject in the Ghana Education curriculum that makes pupils who have gone through primary school and now in Junior High school feels that indeed they have moved one step stone in their education ladder.
This subject is the basics of technology at Large. It gives pupils the fundamentals or general idea on
1 Graphic communication
2 Block work/brick work
3 Metal work
4 Tools and processing
It requires the use of these tools
drawing board, set quares both 30°&45°, a pair of compass, a pair of divider, pencils preferable "H pencils", rule, drawing sheet ....etcIMAG0473.jpg
There is this perception in the mind of most Ghanaian pupils in Junior High School(JHS), that, this subject is difficult.
I would like to debunk that perception, it is not difficult though it requires special skills especially the use of our motor skills (ie the use of the hand)
Above all is constant practiceIMG_20171011_134413.jpg
And self motivation
Now to my colleague teachers who assist our lovely pupils in this subject we should know that JHS is a another level of these pupils education and introducing this new subject to them is not easy but that is why we have been trained to facilitate or assist them to the get to the higher height. Because of that we need to be cautious as to how to guide them to grasp this concerpt.IMAG0547.jpg
To the lovely parents, your wards spend much time with you than we the teachers and you need to guide them too in various homes. The instruments needed for this subject are to be provided adequately in oder to bring out the best in them
Lastly to the nation especially stakeholders of education in Ghana, the necessary teaching and learning materials and resources should be provided in order to making teaching this subject easy.
Various workshops should be organised for teachers to abreat themselves with new modules and pedagogy in teaching this subject
Technical education is the future of our country Ghana and the world at large, let's invest in it from the scratch so we can have a strong foundation!
