Too Late For The Sunset

Hiked a mile to see
This painting in the sky
An amazing time for me
Witnessing this splendor with my eyes

"Maybe i'm just too early"
I talked to myself
So in games I sneaked in
Time? I just let it slip

As I amused myself
The time was running by
But then the darkness crouched
And flashes in my own eyes

"I guess it is time to go"
So I ran to find a place
Where I can see this picture
Printed in the skies face

But when I turned around
There nothing to see anymore
The sun in the sky setting
Is now closing on its door

Darkness covered
And this awkward silence
In my mind I'm shouting
"I missed it! I missed it!"
