Playin' With John D Hale Band

John D. Hale Band
I first stared liking John D. Hale Band when I want to his Barn Party around 2012. The Barn Party is a two day Music Festival in Jackson, MO. I went with my dad and Joe, our close friend, to see Cody Canada, Stoney LaRue and Turnpike Troubadours. They all played that weekend at the Barn Party.

I heard the JDH Band for the first time and I enjoyed their Southern Rock style. They consider themselves country, but truthfully its a blend of country, Americana, southern rock, and bluegrass.

They began in 2005 with their debut album, One of a Kind. My favorite song by them is Heartbreaker, because its Rock. In fact, I got the opportunity to play this song with them on stage! I just asked John D. if i could play and he said “yes”!

I was nervous. My heart raced. My stomach was upset and my hands shook, but i played and the nerves went away. I felt good when it was over and people came over to congratulate me and told me I did a great job.

I’ve seen them again at Off Broadway in St. Louis and Eckert's in Belleville, IL since then. There are no current tour dates scheduled for my area in the near future, but I’d like to go see them soon. I might even get to play with them again!
