A chiton is a mollusk that lives in the intertidal zone of the ocean, part of it's daily life is submerged under water and the other part of the day is out of water as the tide goes out.
They are a slug in a shell that grips tightly to the rocks and at low tide they slowly move feeding on algae, and at high tide when there's predators they remain still.
Their suction is so strong you can't move them with all your strength.
