DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones is celebrating National Teacher's Day with the Philippines' 700,000 strong teaching force who are "the education sector's front liners in the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education." According to her, the teachers' imperative role also involves "securing the learners' future by nurturing and honoring them to become well-rounded, responsible citizens of [the] country."
