Phi - Authentic Thai Restaurant in Liverpool UK - #fff #63

It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these. Never mind, I guess it hasn’t. I just scrolled through my blogadex and it’s only been three weeks since I’ve done one of these—danget! I hate lying right out of the gate like that. ‘Scratch that opening sentence, please.’ It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these. “Welcome to the most fun you’ve read all week!”

It’s Been Awhile is a Staind song (that’s what I meant—stoopit awtoecorrekt) written by Aaron Lewis and is not the duration of time spent between now and my last restaurant review. A big shout-out to @tasteem for hosting these reviews every week including this one called Your Weekly Choice. And an even BIGGER shout-out to the folks over at @foodfightfriday—thanks, Food Fighters! I don’t want this to turn into some mushy, sentimental contender so I’ll keep this short and sweet and sour.

Before I met you, I never talked with my mouth full or ate with my elbows on the table.

@puravidaville and I just arrived at our new location last night. We’re enjoying Liverpool so much, we decided to stay an extra month. This apartment is a lot closer to city center and conveniences than our last one was. Next stop—Thessaloniki, Greece! Moving days tend to be a little hectic so we typically look for a nearby restaurant once we’re settled—it gives us an opportunity to tour our surroundings as well. That’s how we found Phi, a bomb assets Thai restaurant with a curry that’ll stand up against any of the curry’s at any of the Asian restaurants we’ve been to in the UK.

Wait’ll you see all of the choices on this menu, there’s over 100 selections on it and that’s just food part. There’s so many pages I took it upon myself to limit your scrolling by cutting and pasting all of them together in numerical order for your viewing pleasure. The inside was really nice, too, all modern and bright, comfortable tables and chairs, things you’d expect I guess and perhaps mentioning it is uncalled for. Nice art decor inside and a Spotify station that was both awesome and intriguing at the same time—I’ll explain.

Awesome because I dig stuff like Bruno Mars and JT (if you don’t know who JT is, spell it out) although it’s difficult to stuff my face while bobbin and noddin to 24k Magic and I’m spinnin’ my hardfork like a helicopter. Before you know it, I Can’t Stop The Feeling and I’m displaying my own hybrid rendition of a forward Moonwalk meets Roger Rabbit across the dining room floor when all of a sudden :errrrrt: the record stopped! Spotify abruptly changed to this track (I can’t make this stuff up) about daddy finger, mommy finger, and a whole family of fingers and I’m left standing on the dance floor like “hi! Uhm.. Here’s that nice dining room and extensive menu I was telling you about.”

I ordered the Thai Red Curry because I like spice, however, I don’t enjoy fighting a runny nose while trying to consume dinner. Pura, on the other side of the table, a runny nose is just the beginning for her, she ordered the Thai Green Curry because what’s dinner when you can still feel your face? Both dinner items are featured on page 13—number 75, the year I was born and, 76, the year someone else was born. We ordered a vegetable spring roll appetizer for both of us that came with a carrot garnish fancy enough to earn its very own close-up.

Thai Red Curry and Thai Green Curry, each served with a side of sticky rice in these cool little wicker baskets and, if 5-Stars is the max, 5-Stars it is—⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (close enough).

Random thought: I hate extension ladders.

So much for Thai curry take-out—we wont be doing that anymore! The curry at Phi is a 10—5-Stars, ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️, count it! Should you have the opportunity to visit Liverpool, add Phi to your to-do list and let me know if you find a better curry. Two entrees and an appetizer for £28 is pretty reasonable. Did I like it? Eh, just a little bit.

Same place next week, deal? In case I haven’t told you lately, I really appreciate all of the support you’ve shown me over the past two years and two months—thank you for your encouragement. This virtual existence is more fun than I thought—see you soon, #steemit!
