By definition, Talent is a natural ability to do a particular task exceptionally. Talent is natural and one can only be exceptionally good at anything if they were born with that particular skillset and one develops it. Take singing for instance – one could argue that it is a natural talent that is inherited.
Take a Usain Bolt – one could argue that his ability to run faster than a cheetah is because he was born with the talent.
Infant-development experts believe that the first five to seven years of a child’s life are a prime time for learning. As such, a child will naturally develop traits based on the activities he is exposed to. At such a tender age, there is a blurred line between what the child was born with and what he picked up from the environment. It takes constant and deliberate practise, training and development to become good at what you do.
Nobody wakes up one morning and realises he or she is a genius.
The keywords are constant and deliberate. So whether you spend 10,000 hours working that skill
or 21 days forming a habit to develop that skill, what counts is making deliberate efforts that are
vigorous and determined. You don’t need to be a genius to be exceptional. You just need to want to be exceptional enough to put in the time and effort to be such.
And you know what, that little talent of yours is just enough for you to make it in life.
Take for instance, all the skills and abilities required of birds to weave their nests and catch their preys are all inherent in them, they do not need more skill for them to make it, likewise we have been programmed with enough talents to become successful.
Now, why is your talent just enough for you?
Your talent is designed to suit you and only you: in the concept of individual differences, it shows that different individuals are unique in their own ways, just like we can't blame the fish for not being able to fly because we understand that the abilities that suits it has been given to it by God, likewise you are best the way you are because God gave you the best talent you can ever have.
You are destined to be extraordinary: it pleases me to let you know that the script of your life has been written by God. You're only acting what he wants you to be. One thing about it is that God can never give you lesser than you worth. Hence, he gave you the talent required for you to be extraordinary as he has planned for you.
You are the best version of yourself: do not be deceived by anyone. Do not crave to be like someone, only wish to be the best version of yourself. Just like our mobile phones, they get to upgrade themselves when it's time, i.e., they only become better than they were yesterday through their innate abilities, also, you should follow suit and make sure we intrinsically or internally motivate yourself to be better than you've been.
Just pay close attention to all these and you'll discover that your best ticket to being successful is your innate ability, your talent. Use it.
