Seattle Monorail

Built as part of the 1962 World's Fair Complex, the monorail in Seattle still serves 2 million passengers every year.

Occasionally there is discussion about extending the monorail, but it seems that it's too expensive and a light rail system has won the favor of taxpayers. Hence the monorail remains mostly a tourist attraction and useful to a few very local commuters.
