the SURVIVOR'S GUIDE of the FUTURE: EPISODE 3: CLOTHES & TOILETRIES

Most people probably wouldn't think to have a 2nd set of toiletries and a couple sets of clothes set aside for a just-in-case situation. And those people are going to waste valuable time, frivolously packing in a situation where they should be purely mobile, not worrying about packing. In a time of emergency, the time to pack is beforehand. There are so many variables involved in proper hygiene, staying clean & healthy, etc.

You want to make sure you're thoroughly prepared; That's all that matters.

We're talking some pairs of underwear, socks, pants/shorts, shirts, and any kind of outerwear that may be necessary. I currently live in Florida, and in the summer, for example, I could probably get by without a hoodie, but I do have a waterproof rain jacket which looks pretty fly (; you may want to have one of these, because all types of things could go wrong if you AREN'T PREPARED!

That should be a recurring theme in this series, TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPARED.

Let's be for real, you probably don't floss as much as your dentist would want to hear, but you should definitely have some in your toiletries bag, in case you need a rope-like material. You should have a 2nd set of EVERYTHING you might need, in your bug-out bag. Do you really want to have to go to the supermarket for a toothbrush and toothpaste if there is a situation of civil unrest? Good luck with that. I'm gonna make sure I have everything I might need! I suggest you do the same. There are even very small "camper's" rolls of toilet paper which are the perfect size because they're just paper, no huge hole in the middle of the tube.

I'd highly recommend over-packing things like underwear and socks, and depending on where you live, maybe even some of those long-legged thermal underwear if it gets really cold. Try to get an idea of what you think you need, and what you actually need. This can be hard at first.

Another great thing to have is a small stopper to clog up a sink, allowing you to wash your clothes in a sink in you need to! It's actually much faster than using a washing machine!
