The village head also talked a little about the condition of the people who had returned to their homes and there were some who were still staying at relatives because their houses were still being rehabilitated and reconstructed. The flash flood disaster that often struck his village was because the geographical location of the Paya Tumpi Baru village was on the slopes of the Pantan Terong mountain range so that when the rain came, water from the mountains raced downward as the forest above began to bare. Currently, he is also working on disaster mitigation in the village, because his village is very prone to flash flood disasters. >Kepala desa juga sedikit bercerita tentang kondisi masyarakat yang sudah kembali ke rumah masing-masing dan ada beberapa yang masih menumpang di rumah saudara karena bangunan rumahnya masih di rehab dan rekontruksi kembali. Bencan banjir bandang yang kerap melanda desa beliau dikarenanakan letak geografis desa Paya Tumpi Baru ini berada di lereng pegunungan Pantan Terong, sehingga ketika hujan datang, air dari atas pegunungan melaju cepat kebawah akibat hutan diatas mulai gundul.
