Sekiwake Mitakeumi had a bad day today as he lost his bout against Ozeki Takayasu. The monoi was called and judges decided to award victory to the Ozeki, not the Sekiwake. Takayasu is kachi-koshi (勝ち越し) 8-4. Mitakeumi is 11-1.
The July Basho is still undecided as more than one sekitories are trailing to Mitakeumi by only 2 points while 3 days to fight are left.
