I was just notified that Atlassian is going to release a new application, Stride, to replace HipChat:
To me this seems like a risky move for Atlassian. Instead of focusing on one thing, group chat, and being the best at it, they are going to mix in what looks to me like task/project management and video conferencing. I wonder if people that were on the fence about HipChat vs Slack will use this as an opportunity to make the switch. Stride is typically $3/user vs $2/user for HipChat, a 33% price increase, but at least it's still much less than Slack at $8/user.
If you use HipChat, what are you going to do? Will you move all your users to Stride?
