Times, They are a'Changin' (and Not for the Better)

I grew up in a small town that was mostly middle class people. Almost everyone knew everyone else and it was a pretty nice place to live.

Recently, the mayor of my small home town was arrested for downloading child pornogrqaphy. I have not lived there for a decade or more. There have been many housing developments and apartments going up. Still, it has remained a small town and most people know each other, despite the changes. I admit that I felt a pang of sorrow knowing that my old home town, which I considered a pretty safe place had a sex offender for a mayor.

After the arrest, the mayor quickly resigned. The most shocking thing of all was that only then was it revealed that this man had a past involving sexual crimes, mostly against children including:.

  • In 1975, he was charged with sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl.

  • In 1982, he was the subject of a complaint that he acted improperly with a 5-year-old girl on his bus.

  • In 1986, he was acquitted of two cases that went to trial. One case alleged that he raped and sodomized a mentally challenged 18-year-old girl. The other case accused him of first-degree sexual abuse unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a 15-year-old girl.

It may not surprise some that this man was a democrat. How the heck the members of the democrat party committee thought that it was acceptable for someone with this guy's past to hold any elected office completely blows my mind. Until he was caught red-handed committing more crimes three years into his term, the media remained silent. Ironically, if this man had been a republican candidate, we all know that his past would have come out immediately and made him un-electable. To make matters even more bizzare, this dirtbag's son is running for a seat in the US senate. Hopefully, he won't win.

What the heck is it about liberals that seems to make them think that they are not subject to laws and the rules that everyone else is supposed to follow? I do not understand the mentality of these people. They are disturbingly amoral and seem to incentivize criminal and abnormal behavior while blasting the same old slurs of "racism", "bigot", homophobe", etc. against anyone that dares to disagree with them.

Hopefully, the voters of my old home town will wake up and see the light. But the fact that the people in this town could vote for a man that was known for being a sexual predator as their mayor truly frightens me. People really need to wake up and start paying attention to who they are casting their votes for. This country is being ruined by people that cast their votes colely on the basis of party, or because they are promised "free stuff" (paid for by money stolen from other people).
