Genesis 32:30 So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
Hello my friends, brothers and sisters stesmians, i want to share with you this verse of the bible with a deep meaning for those who have met with our Lord and Savior Jesuschrist and for those who have not met him yet.
Jacob, a man with a life marked by errors, had a unique experience with God, he found face to face with him and his soul was spared.
God had promises for jacob and he knew it, and at the right time God and Jacob met to change jacob's life forever.
Jacob lived for a long time a life of appearances, even usurping his older brother by deceiving his blind and elderly father to obtain his blessing.
He was a deceiver, who seemed to be someone he was not. That is a reality that many people live in today, taking refuge in false appearances and even knowing the promises that God has for their lives can not achieve the fulfillment of that purpose in their lives. The good news is that, when God shows himself, everything changes.
What happen when we meet God?
We are confronted.
Genesis 32: 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”
But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”
27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”
“Jacob,” he answered.
By answering what his name is recognizing his condition, he recognizes that he has been a long term supplanter, as his name implies.
We need to be humble and recognize our condition before God, it is the first step to change, and what God expects from us is that we recognize our need for Him.
Luke 5:31-33 Living Bible (TLB)
31 Jesus answered them, “It is the sick who need a doctor, not those in good health. 32 My purpose is to invite sinners to turn from their sins, not to spend my time with those who think themselves already good enough.”
When Jacob recognized his condition before God, something extraordinary happened. God changed his name, his history, his life and even his way of walking in life. It is exactly what Jesus does in everyone who meets him.
Genesis 32:28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
I pray to God that everyone who can read this message can feel within his heart the call of God to change his life, that they can have hope and the certainty that not everything is said for you, please, come out of that life of appearances, because God who knows you well wants to give you the opportunity to change that which does not work in your life. There are promises waiting to be fulfilled in your life and Jesus is close to you, so come to Jesus today.
John 4:13 Jesus replied that people soon became thirsty again after drinking this water. 14 “But the water I give them,” he said, “becomes a perpetual spring within them, watering them forever with eternal life.” Living Bible (TLB)
Come to Jesus and recieve a new life and eternal joy.
