La Muerte del Dólar

It has been hypothesized by some that the current financial model based upon "fiat" currency (i.e., currency which is not backed by a tangible standard, such as precious metals assets such as silver, gold, platinum, et al.) is not a sustainable model. Of course, proponents of the fiat-system (namely, the bankers & investment brokers) are saying that the "death of the dollar" is hogwash and that the fiat-system is stronger than ever and cannot fail. But, it is in their vested interest — not ours — that the population continues to believe that. Thus is the inspiration for this series of bullion rounds: "The Death of the Dollar" or "La Muerte del Dólar."

This bullion round is minted from 99.9% Fine Silver and the obverse (front) features a woman with a skeletal face to represent Death, personified. She holds in her hand a dollar bill. She has beautiful flowers in her hair (hibiscus and roses) and there is an intricate, geometric wreath around the rim of the design.

The reverse (back) of the round is stamped with the iconic Trivium design, an artistic variant of the Celtic triskelion (or triskele), which serves as the symbol of the Silver Shield ideology and bullion series. "1 TROY OUNCE" and ".999 PURE AG" represents the mass and purity of the piece.

This particular design (№ 10) within the "La Muerte del Dólar" / "Death of the Dollar" series was limited to 5132 rounds. It puzzles me how these numbers are determined — why not an even 5000 pieces? Did they continue producing rounds until the die broke? ...or until the available silver in their vault was exhausted? Or does the number 5132 have a special significance of some sort? hmmm... 🤔

"Stacking" precious metals poses a viable alternative to the fiat system, by converting fiat money into something with actual intrinsic value. Also, cryptocurrency and the "barter system" are other alternatives. I know folk who regularly barter for goods and services with other people.

This is a lovely design and looks great in my booty stack! Does anyone here have this one, too? Or any others in this series? Do you barter with people for goods or services?
