# 171 - Rhode Island

Continuing our series of the American Half Dollars Commemoratives, we will today present the 1936-D "Rhode Island".

As all the commemorative half dollars, it weights 12,5g with a 90% silver purity.

This coin commemorates the 300th anniversary of the landing of Roger Williams in Rhode Island on June 24, 1636.

The obverse represented Roger Williams arriving in his canoe at Slate Rock, greeting an Indian.

A total of 15,010 coins were minted and distributed in Denver. The actual price is around U$150.00 in this grade.

On a different note @willsparks88 had a banger of an idea for SSG to try and win some BTC. Just follow this discord link https://discord.gg/YfwVwdu and it's done. Nothing else for you to do but wait.
