Jeff Bezos to become world’s first trillionaire by 2026

Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos is on track to becoming the first trillionaire in 2026 according to reports from America. The world’s richest man has seen his wealth surge during the coronavirus pandemic and this could propel him towards this heights if it continues at this rate.

Bezos is currently estimated to have a net worth of $143 billion which is a quarter more than the second richest man Bill Gates at $105 billion and nearly twice that of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg $78 billion.

Bezos has seen his wealth increase exponentially in the last five years as Amazon has grown to become the largest eCommerce empire in the world. Despite paying a record $38 billion in the largest divorce settlement in history last year, Bezos stock has only continued to grow.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen Amazon share price soar to 29% in 2020 due to millions across the world stuck at home and using the eCommerce firm to order more goods than before. This is in contrast to the S&P500 stock index that is down nearly 12% since the beginning of the year.
