The stunning beach sunset was captured at Cavanico iL Mare Resort (formerly Pacific Heights Resort) in Samal Island, Davao, Philippines.
Me and my cousin visited this beautiful resort last Ocotber 2017 as my pre- birthday getaway. The resort is easy to access, affordable, with accomodating staffs and my favorite part is the white sand beach and their color changing swimming pool lights.
Cavanico il mare opened its door to the public with an entrance fee of 250 php (5usd) for day tour. There is also an overnight accommodation for 350 php per person (open hut). With the 250 php, you can enjoy the beach and make the most of your time swimming of their white sand beach, swimming pool with color changing lights at night or laze around in their huts by the shore.
They also offer overnight accommodation packages that will suit your budget.
The food in their bar and restaurant is also great with reasonable prices.
A few meters from the resort’s shore is an underwater statue of the Virgin Mary that is a must-see for divers. Two kayaks have glass bottoms that will allow you to see the statue. A live band and fire dance entertainment every weekend.
The resort staffs is also accomodating from the ferry station to our checkout the next day.

I was wondering if where does the resort gets it's name. As we get inside, we saw the pool side cottages with "abaniko" roof design and that make sense. "Abaniko" or "pamaypay" is a Filipino word for a "folding fan". When I did a little research, I also found out that "Cavanico El Marie" is also a translation for "fan by the sea".
The beach is so clean, crystal white sand and so tempting! Beach photos was taken early in the morning after our breakfast.
I highly recommend to visit the resort in weekdays and beach swimming in the morning where there's no people flocking yet (and if you would love to have the soaking sunbed on the beach all for yourself 😀).
Over all, our Cavanico Il Mari experience was fun.
