From a great idea, to an epic fail🤣🤣

Hedgehogs' day!

I've always wanted them to roam in the garden, as they should be, so, today I have decided to take them out of their cages. A day out in the garden!

My niece bought a pair of them about March this year and from a couple, they have grown to 6. Still December, yet the 4 off-springs are already adults. All males are in a separate cage.

A palace-ground creation, a picture story

Already a week since arriving in the province, can't helped but wander to this part of our backyard, now a junk yard due to my brother's furniture-making business.

It is doing well from the looks of it, which is great! But this.

Well as before, our yard were full of just untouched newly cut logs, ready to be used for furnitures. We have a lot less junks than we do now.

Inspirational?

We can do stuff with those wood, right? In the old, old days, we use smaller pieces to cook, light a bonfire and give them away to whoever needs them. Then an idea was born.

Brilliant moment there!!

Et voila!!

Easy peasy, right?

Would anyone prefers this than being in the cage? A palace ground, won't you think? Well, a play ground! A play pen?

Aren't hedgehogs a cousins of the rats? They would need a space to roam, i would have thought. Fresh air than stuffy?

Isn't she cute???

Be very mindful when touching them. Although their quills are flattened when unthreatened, they can really hurt on sudden appearance.

Very sharp too based from a pricked finger, it bled. As a protective mechanism, it is very much effective.

Hedgehogs when approached, they do stop, curl into a ball and show-off their quills. Cute but deadly.

And roam they did...

...for less than 5 minutes.

Seriously?

They've got to be kidding me!

They don't run like rats, but boy, they can scuttle fast going into corners! Is it their comfort zone to find nooks and corners to hide? What's wrong in the open spaces? Surely, it is way better than being in a cage.

Plotting against me you two?😂

Snubbing me in the end.

And here they are in one corner. In wanting to get out of the pen? Or go back to the cage?

Two went back to their cage not so long ago after. The other two disappeared after leaving them sleeping.

Till the time of writing, 1 is still missing.

Epic!
