Hi there peeps! This time i'm not bringing a HUGE post (I hope, help me.) about this new Steem Monsters card that recently got added to the game. The Phantom Soldier.
My first impressions on this card...weren't amazing. I don't actually like the design of it (Purely in terms of aesthetic) but that's just my own gripe with it, even if it doesn't look that amazing to me, I think it still holds some very heavy and good value as an actual addition to the Death Splinter. As if the Haunted Spirit wasn't enough Anti Magic artillery, we're given literally THE ANTI MAGIC CARD, which cements the Death Splinter as the default most effective Anti Magic deck in the whole game (In my opinion.) Pair this up with Lord Arianthus, Haunted Spirit, and This card and WHAM, nothing's getting over you, especially if you have those cards at max level... which we'll talk about now.
If this isn't the Definitive Anti Magic Card, I don't what it is.
It doesn't start being The Magic Tank I'm selling you until it reaches level 3 and then even more at level 5 when it has already acquired Void and Silence, two of the most if not the best tools to disarm mages. So you're basically telling me that this card not only has the benefit of FLYING which makes Melee enemies miss by A LOT MORE than usual, this card also gains Silence, making magic enemies deal less damage and THEN, AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, it also gains Void, halving whatever's left of the magic damage that's dealt to it. Not only that, it's massive amout of HP also makes it even better as a tank, dealing with almost everything other players can throw at it.
The only downsize I see to this card is that it's mana cost is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too expensive. Forgive me if i'm wrong, but is this not the most expensive card in terms of mana cost yet in the game? 8 Points of mana is just 1 point more THAN ACTUALLY BRINGING A LEGENDARY TO YOUR TEAM (You should totally bring this card instead of the Lord of Darkness, he sucks.)
Besides his expensive mana cost, The speed of this card isn't great, it's just average. at 3 speed and absolutely NEVER gaining more than that, it's safe to say that it will get behind some of the more adept cards at max level. but I honestly think that for such a good tank, it's almost worth it. You're sacrificing an above average speed in exchange of the best Anti Magic card in the game. BOOM.
So guys that was it! I managed to pull out this bad boy (or bad cloud, because it looks like one) on the same day it came out! That's a lucky pull in my opinion! (Looking at you, UNICORN) And tbh even with this card at level 1, I think it's one of the units that will be used the best at it's early levels since it has already great stats for what it brings to the table. Even if it's not my favorite card, or the one I wanted (Read my Death Knight Story here uwu) getting a new Death Card that is cool is always appreciated!
