Introducing Minnow Monsters SM Tournaments!
Under the new brand @minnowmonsters Steem account, BuildTeam is proud to bring you our very own Steem Monsters tournaments. Steem Monsters has done a lot to bring eyes and engagement to the Steem blockchain and we are excited to have this chance to contribute to the success of the Steem gaming community.
If you don't already know about Steem Monsters (and you should unless you've been living in a cave the past few months), you can sign up & get started playing here.
Our tournaments will be held weekly and a list of all scheduled tournaments can be found on our Challonge home page: https://buildteam.challonge.com/

We have made an effort to vary timezones and leagues so as many players as possible will have the chance to participate. But if none of the above works for you, let us know and we'll make an effort to accommodate you in future tournaments.

The First Minnow Monsters Slugfest
Our first tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 22 will be a bronze league best-of-one single elimination tournament.
To register: simply go to the Challonge registration page and slap that big ol' orange button! If you have never participated in an SM tournament before, you'll need to sign up for a Challonge account and it's a good idea to ask around beforehand so you know what to expect. Please make sure your Challonge username is the same as your Steem username to avoid confusion.
Prizes:
- 1st place: 50 SBD
- 2nd place: 30 SBD
- 3rd place: 15 SBD
- 4th place: 5 SBD
In order to claim the above prize, winners will be asked via DM to answer 1 trivia question about BuildTeam. Fear not, it'll be an easy question and if you don't know the answer you can ask around in our Discord chat.
Other rules: The top person listed on Challonge for a match is expected to send the challenge to the bottom person. Anyone more than 5 minutes late to a match will be disqualified and the other participant allowed to advance by default. In case of disputes, the BuildTeam moderator will have the final say and decisions cannot be appealed once made.
Important: Check in commences 30 minutes before the game starts to ensure we can all start on time. This will also ensure that all players are present when the tournament starts (If you fail to check in on Challonge before the tournament has started, your name will be removed and disqualified by the system).
Also important: The tournament will NOT be moderated from the Steem Monsters Discord. In order to participate, you must join our BuildTeam customer service Discord, which has a dedicated channel #sm-tournaments where we will be hosting it.
