I remember when this world was different, when the humans, elfs and other races could exist without fight each other. Me and my family lived on "The Magic Forest", the place where all lifes begins, and the place where all lifes ends to become one with the forest. This forest was our home, giving everybody his magic without exception...but They were so stupid.

The humans and the elfs wanted to drain all the magic of the forest, there was a lot of wizards fighting, all the creatures of the forest were contaminated by the evil magic of the wizards...everybody in the forest died slowly, humans and elfs included. I remember that I felt a fire burning inside my body, something like a venom running through my blood...it was The Evil produced by the remains of the fight.

The forest was not the same too; he don't give life anymore, he just wants revenge; he wants to destroy the rebel creatures that don't deserve his mercy...and I'm gonna to grant his wish.

Short version:

The Haunted Spider drains the life of the enemies to serve to The Evil. Nobody will escape from his bite, they will return to the dust that they came from, very, very slowly.
