Polystyrene as a building material.

For the past centuries (over 100 years ) what has been used mostly as a building material, were clay mixed with straws and water and later fired to have a solid block, and green concrete (mixture of cement aggregate and water in a definite proportion). This did not only caused intensive labor but also caused a decrease in the characteristic strength of the concrete.
Polystyrene reinforced concrete otherwise known as light weight concrete, is an exception of this, apart from being economical (budget for construction), it renders a promising mechanical properties, in terms of strength, durability, fire resistance, sound proof and bullet proof.
This type of construction material is made by placing polystyrene (white oak mostly found in new electronics) in a reinforcement cage and covered with mortar.
The shape of each of the polystyrene, is made by considering the dimension of the room, which is to be placed. These parts are then taken to the building construction site, where there are being anchored to the foundation of the building.
