Were you happy to be at school?
Today...I would like to share some of our school activities of the first day on this academic year 2018-2019.
It was on Monday, 9th July 2018, when all students came back to school after very long holiday.
All teachers stood near the parking lot to do "Morning Welcome" session in order to meet the students soon after they arrived at school. Both teachers and students looked excited. They smiled and greeted each other.
As you can see in the following pictures, it was a very crowded day. Instead, it looked more crowded than before. Most of the students were taken by their parents to the school by car and motorcycle. Only senior high school students who were allowed to ride the motorcycle on their own, not for the ninth graders or kids. This is regarding to the one of school rules that it is not allowed for them to disobey so.
Next session, all students were commanded to gather in lobby of the school. The agenda was to introduce the new school managements and teachers to the all of students. The changes commonly occur in Sukma Bangsa School because our school motto is "School That Learns" so that "trial and error" in doing something new is a part of process for achieving improvement.
The school consists of 3 level of education; Elementary level, Junior high School level, and Senior High School. Can you imagine then how big are our school? It is approximately 7 hectares in wide. However, the number of students are not as big as other public schools in the town which have more than 500 students until 1000 students for each schools.
Hmmm..Let's go back to our main topic today that is about the school first day in Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe School. What were the activities at the first day of school?
Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe had interesting idea to welcome our new students or the senior one. There were some games for building teamwork, collaboration, and characters such as responsibility, honest, and trust among the students. Fun and enjoyable atmosphere are two goals for getting their first impression. Thus, teachers try to be as friendly as they can when they interact and engage in students' group activity.
