সমাজে এই তিনটি শব্দের গুরুত্ব কত তা নিশ্চয়ই অনুধাবন করতে পারছেন। এই শিক্ষাটা ওরা বাল্যকাল থেকে পায়। আমাদের রাজনীতিবিদরা এবং আমরা সবাই বাল্যকালটা যদি কোন রকমে জাপানের কিন্ডারগার্টেনে কাটিয়ে আসতে পারতাম! কিন্ডারগার্টেন থেকেই স্বনির্ভরতার ট্রেনিং দেয়া হয়। সমাজে মানুষ হিসাবে বসবাস করার জন্য যা দরকার – নিজের বই খাতা, খেলনা, বিছানা নিজে গোছানো; টয়লেট ব্যবহার, পরিষ্কার করা; নিজের খাবার নিজে খাওয়া, প্লেট গোছানো ইত্যাদি। প্রাইমারী স্কুল থেকে এরা নিজেরা দল বেধে স্কুলে যায়। দল ঠিক করে দেন স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষ। ট্রাফিক আইন, বাস ট্রেনে চড়ার নিয়ম কানুন সবই শেখানো হয়। আপনার গাড়ি আছে, বাচ্চাকে স্কুলে দিয়ে আসবেন, উল্টে আপনাকে লজ্জা পেয়ে আসতে হবে। ক্লাস সেভেন থেকে বাচ্চারা সাইকেল চালিয়ে স্কুলে যেতে পারে। ক্লাসে কে ধনী, কে গরীব, কে প্রথম কে দ্বিতীয় এসব বৈষম্য যেন তৈরী না হয় তার জন্য যথেষ্ট সতর্ক থাকেন স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষ। ক্লাসে রোল নং ১, মানে এই নয় যে একাডেমিক পারফরম্যান্স সবচেয়ে ভাল। রোল নং তৈরী হয় নামের বানানের ক্রমানুসারে। বার্ষিক ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগীতার সমস্ত আইটেম গুলো থাকে গ্রুপ পারফরম্যান্স দেখার জন্য – ইন্ডিভিজুয়াল নয়। সারা স্কুলের ছেলে মেয়েদের ভাগ করা হয় কয়েকটা গ্রুপে- সাদা দল, লাল দল, সবুজ দল ইত্যাদি। গ্রুপে কাজ করার ট্রেনিংটা পেয়ে যায় খেলাধুলা থেকে। এই জন্যই হয়তো জাপানে বড় নেতা তৈরি হয়না কিন্তু গড়ে এরা সবার সেরা মানুষ, বড় মানুষ!
ওরা পারে কিন্তু আমরা পারি না কেন ??? বিষয়-বৈভব , জ্ঞান-গরিমা , প্রাণ-প্রাচুর্য , লোকসম্পদ কোনো কিছুরই তো আমাদের অভাব নেই ! এতো প্রাণ, এতো বৈচিত্র , এতো সম্পদ , এতো বিশ্ববরেণ্য মনিষীর দেশ পৃথিবীতে আর কটা আছে ??? তারপরেও আমরা পারিনা। পারিনা কারণ, সদিচ্ছার অভাব, মানসিকতার অভাব। আমরাও কি কিছু করতে পারিনা ? আসুন না আমরা একটু একটু করে ওই কচিকাঁচা গুলির মধ্যে সততা, আদর্শ, মূল্যবোধের বীজ বপন করি। ওদেরকে মানুষের মতো মানুষ করে গড়ে তুলি।
