Follow for follow is an ineffective strategy because you will end up with a feed full of "upvote me and I'll upvote you", all of your content will die and you will leave Steemit behind with a bad taste in your mouth.

I don't want you (or anyone) to leave Steemit. So let's get you on the right track.

Start off by posting a proper introduction. Post a picture of yourself, share some of your interests. Tell us why you came to Steemit, what you expect to get from Steemit and most importantly what you plan to GIVE the community with your contributions.

After you've got that covered, READ several posts in the topics that seem interesting to you. Now that you've done some reading leave thoughtful comments about what you read. Comments are where followers come from when people see what you write about their posts, they want to see what you write.

Finally start posting. Try to write at least 3 times as much as you resteem! Writing posts and comments is how you earn money on Steemit, but only if you get QUALITY followers by using the suggestions above.
