Starting at 10:05AM PT, a service outage occurred at https://steemit.com. We are writing to inform you that as of now, steemit.com is back up again.
The root cause of the outage was in Amazon Web Services. The outage had nothing to do with either Condenser (steemit.com) or steemd (the Steem blockchain) and api.steemit.com remained operational at all times. An internal networking issue is what caused the services to spontaneously become unavailable.
Steemit will continue to investigate the occurrence as well as liaise with our AWS rep, but at this time all services are fully operational.
