World’s First Mobile Data Exchange DENT Seeks to Disrupt Telco Market with Blockchain

About DENT Wireless Ltd:

DENT Wireless LTD, based in Hong Kong, was founded in 2014 as Commando Coder Ltd. when Tero Katajainen decided to develop an automated FOREX trading system with built-in risk management functions. He integrated the product with the leading trading terminal MetaTrader, allowing traders to trade straight out of the Web application. Parts of this product are now being integrated into the DENT Exchange to allow buying, selling, and donating of mobile data packages on the marketplace. In 2017, the other founders invested in the company and joined Tero in the adventure to develop and bring DENT Exchange to the world.

How many Tokens are there in this crowdsale?

We created a total of 100B tokens, where 70%, i.e., 70 billion will be available in this Token Sale.
30% of the tokens will remain in the company and will be used for example for seeding the marketplace by making telco agreements and purchasing initial mobile data packages from telcos. Tokens are also a good currency to be used as community incentives for signing up and becoming a member of the DENT community, as well as for marketing and for employee salaries and bonuses.
Should any tokens remain unsold in the Crowdsale, these remain in the company as reserve.
1 Billion DENT Tokens will be pledged to the UN Sustainable Development Goals program to provide mobile data access to developing countries.
Founders will not take any DENT tokens off the table.

What is the purpose of a token to the buyer?

With DENT, the user is supporting DENT in our efforts to liberate mobile data and to disrupt the mobile operator industry. For that purpose, we are developing the Ethereum Blockchain-based marketplace for mobile data, the DENT Exchange. After the marketplace is launched and carriers onboarded, DENT Tokens become the global currency of mobile data packages.

What parts of the Mobile Operator Business will you aim to disrupt?

  • First: We will liberate mobile data help customers to buy, sell or donate mobile data with the click of a button.

We remove borders and create a global mobile data exchange with fully transparent data prices. We remove restrictions and wastage caused by limited validities. Second, we help operators to serve more customers and utilize their networks better. Operators can easily connect with the DENT platform to serve a global customer base, without the need to establish silo’ed own platforms.

  • Second: We want to remove the Data Roaming Fees or reduce them to a minimum

Very simple. In today’s telco world, when you as a US customer are — say — in Sydney, Australia watching a video, all that data traffic is routed from the US. This is obviously not the best economic way and all the data carrier cost, the so-called interconnect cost and the operator margin on-top drives the data price up that you have to pay. We want to short-circuit data access in the most direct way. Internet access will happen where you are, and the cost will be as cheap as if purchased locally. That’s called LOCAL BREAKOUT and DENT will be driving the adoption of that.

  • Third: We will drive the Data Sharing Economy

With DENT, we take the global mega-trend of the “sharing economy” one step further. People are sharing apartments with airbnb, businesses are sharing storage and compute with cloud services, and we for the first time enable sharing of mobile data across any DENT user. The sharing economy optimizes asset utilization and reduces waste, thus driving down prices for everyone.

How will DENT Wireless use the funds from the Token Sale?

The funds will be used for the development and launch of the DENT Exchange platform, to acquire users to DENT Community, to hire staff to acquire and integrate telcos onto DENT Exchange, and of course on sales and marketing.

To be able to do this in a large scale, we will establish local offices in central hubs like Singapore, New York, Berlin and London and later in Latin America. The following list is a preliminary spread of the funding, the final distribution will depend on the size of the funding that becomes available from the crowdsale.

Funding usage plan:

  • 25% in core platform development, R&D
    To build and launch the DENT Exchange platform as written in the whitepaper, we will hire more developers into our team to speed up the development roadmap accordingly.

  • 18% Technical integration team to enable telco to become part of the DENT network, using the DENT APIs.

  • 10% Mobile App development
    A dedicated mobile app team of 15 people is estimated to be needed as a resource to release the Android and iOS mobile apps. A team with designers, developers, QA people and testers are needed.

  • 17% platform operations, maintenance and support
    To operate the platform and to scale it according to the planned demand, we need a strong operations team, which will work on 3 continents to provide the service level in a critical marketplace.

  • 22% in Sales and Marketing
    Main tasks for the sales team is to acquire telco partners world-wide to enable their customers to use DENT.
    Also we will use the funds for end-user acquisition and marketing. The Company-owned DENT tokens will be also used for seeding the users and telcos (initial data package purchases), and for salaries, bonuses etc.

  • 8% General Administration, legal and compliance.
