SteemIt DOs & DON'Ts 101: Resteeming

Hello Fellas!!

For a week now, I have been reading others' post as I can't think of any topic to blog. And yet, I still have no idea what to post. A while ago I was chatting with @steemph.uae group and we touched the topic about resteeming.

RESTEEM is sharing content that you find interesting to your followers.

But does RESTEEMING fall in DOs or DON'Ts in Steemit?!

When you resteemed a post, you are sharing the content to your followers while the post you have resteemed gets exposure.

Sharing other's content is not bad at all, specially if the post you have resteemed is about the frequent topic you are blogging. Your followers are getting more information aside from your posts. This would be ideal too, if you have not done any recent post about your frequent topic.

BUT too much resteeming might not a good idea at all and here are some of the reasons why:

  1. Too much resteeming makes your own posts less visible, the person who visits you has to dig all the way down just to see your post. Remember, all your posts and resteemed contents are just in one page. And 5 consecutive resteems will drag your own post at the bottom part of your profile.

  2. As your posts are already at the bottom, the person who visits you might just leave your page without even Following, Commenting or Upvoting any of your post. Why? Because if the person visits your profile, he is interested to know you and see if you're worth following. How can they justify it if all they can see are others' post in your profile.

  3. Because you have to take good care of your followers. Remember, your followers are following you and not others. If all they see are others' post resteemed by you, then they might just ignore all your activities and slowly turn to be a ghost follower.

  4. Because your posts are important. Don't expect that the moment you posted it, it will be seen by others forever. A chance of seeing your content by those who are not online when you posted your blog is 50%. You can also take 50% chance of those who are online visiting your blog, and believe me, you won't like the idea that your previous post which was a Travel To Paris was just dragged down by your resteemed contents.

  5. A Whale or a Minnow who has Whale connection can visit your profile and I am pretty sure you would not dare missing the chance of being upvoted by them.

These are just few of the many reasons why too much resteeming is not a good idea at all.

BUT I'm not saying STOP Resteeming... Just be a little careful. ☺️

This week, you can see I resteemed most of the contests I've seen and when I was searching for my not so old post... haistt,, I just gave up as it's indeed quite hard to find!! 😬😬😬

So, it's not too late... Let's Resteem Moderately! ☺️☺️☺️

Cheers!!
