Cooking – as an art. «Draniki» or pancakes in Belarusian style

Hello Steemit community.

I’m Denis, I am new here and I would like tell you where I from and share with you one of most delicious dishes I have ever tasted. First of all, I would like to say, that I am from Belarus and I'm is obsessed with food, I love to eat, love to cook, I love cook delicious meals. I cook not only local dishes, but also love to experiment with something new.
If you pay attention to the title of the article, you might have noticed, I would like to share with you exactly Belarusian dish, but, no, not a simple dish. This dish is almost 100% composed of potatoes (Belarusians are obsessed with potatoes).
So, what do we need for the preparation of so-called "draniki» - belorussian pancakes?

  • Cleaned potatoes - 3-3.5 kg (for 4 persons)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt (half a tablespoon)
  • Flour (half cup)
  • 2 small onions
These pancakes are made in two ways: with or without meat. If you want meat, then you will need in the following ingredients:
  • Minced meat (750 gr)
  • Pepper (a third of a tablespoon)
  • Salt (a third of a tablespoon)
  • 1 onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
It is worth noting that you need for cooking: juicer, pan, grater and sunflower oil.

Let’s start the cooking!

  1. First of all, clean all available potatoes and prepare all the other ingredients (yes, at the time of cooking the eggs have gone missing, but by the time they need – they come back).
  2. All potatoes, 2 onions grind in a juicer, while we would get 2 bucket: with pulp and with the "juice". Iridescent juice with pulp in the tub to a liquid state. Warning: do not interrupt the starch.
  3. Further: in the same bucket, add all the other ingredients: flour, salt, eggs and mix it.
  4. If you are going to cooking without meat, please, skip steps 4-5. In the minced meat add salt, pepper, and grate onions and garlic cloves there.
  5. Mix it.
  6. As a result, we get 2 buckets (or one - if you cooking without meat), one with a ready for frying meat, another with potatoes. But do not relax yet - a little bit more and you will see the «draniki» on your table.
  7. Heat the pan and begin to spread our pancakes in three layers (or in one layer if you cooking without meat). From time to time we turn over and eventually to remove our pancakes. Warning: do not forget to add sunflower oil to the pancakes do not stick and burn.

Well done! It's a your Belarusian potato pancakes right now on your table. You are awesome! You can add a little sour cream or have them so. Bon Appetit, Steemit community.

With love from Belarus.
