When we look at our lives, we have many different subject areas we are interested in. I go out and party, and have some great friends from partying but also I am strongly passionate about business, industry and capitalism. This makes a big divide. |
Recently having one of my friends over by that common bond partying, I found that outside of that our interests are rather different. Now, don't get me wrong, he is into wrestling, and I am not. But I have another friend who I count as a brother who also likes wrestling. I wonder if they would get on outside of partying more than I can with them, but they good friends.
This interest based view is that you can't mix chickens and cows together. They need separation. They can not coexist. Haven't you heard the term - don't mix business with pleasure?
Social media sites such as Facebook, base total relationships and then when our interests in different areas are projected out, we have some like this and some like that.
Steemit is changing society however. Now, when you have an interest in the occult, you can tag that and you will see people interested in that seeing that. You have something about sky diving, then people can find that.
Sites like Facebook make a disconnect between friends, acquaintances and relatives. It brings out more of our separation rather than bringing us together.
What the steemit provides is a way to better organize relationships.
Now business, can meet people interested in business. Career can meet people with that interest. Music can connect those people.
Now we have a better structured society. Now people with similar interests can connect on those topics and its as simple as following those tags you like.
This makes it like real life. If you into golf, you don't take your aunt who is into swimming, your niece who is into gymnastics, and your uncle buck who hates golf with you! You don't have to disconnect from friends, family and acquaintances, you can keep it like real life and connect with those people who are also interested in that, simply by the tags.
