TO STEEM OR NOT TO STEEMIT

Growing up I've always known I'd be a writer. I never really took it any seriously until three months ago when I started blogging on WordPress.

If you visit my blog, you'd realise that all my write-ups are centered around Christ. I blog because I believe I can preach Christ by using that platform. It's been my ardent prayer that God uses me as a vessel of honour to draw souls to Himself.

Not long after I began blogging, my good friend @anaman introduced me to steemit.

Trust me he's so passionate about this wonderful platform where you get to share your thoughts with the world and get paid for it.

Isn't it amazing?

That you get to do what you enjoy and earn some good cash from it?

I was quite impressed about steemit but my mind was not at ease.

I thought about the implications Steemit might have on my writing.
I mean, money makes the world go round and we all need some cash every now and then but what if I get addicted to the cash and forget the purpose?

I was a bit scared.

What if I start earning here and my interests shift?

Of course I could write about other things too but what if I start to post just any content here because I want to accumulate some cash?

I thought hard but saw no way forward.

Come to think of it this piece is not about a great debate society might want me to speak on.

But here I am, having this conversation with you and telling you the fuss that's going on in my head now.

It feels like I'm talking to a friend - a virtual friend who has taken time off his/her schedule to read what I have.

That gives me hope that I just might have something meaningful others might want to read. And though I might not be able to post every now and then, I hope to share my thoughts with you from time to time.

Thanks for reading and I will write to you when I can, as often as I can.

Enjoy your day.
