The History of The World Cup [ THREAD]

In total 13 nations took part in the 1930 world cup, A total of seven(7) from South America, four(4) from Europe and two(2) from North America, No African Nation, i wonder why lol
The first two matches of the world cup in 1930 took place simultaneously, France beat Mexico a whooping 4–1 and USA beat Belgium 3–0. First goal in the competition was scored by Lucien Laurent who hails from France.
England and Spain did not participate in the first world cup competition.
Each half time during the Uruguay and Argentina match was played with different balls proposed by each selection due to the distrust between the two teams.
Uruguay went ahead and defeated Argentina 4-2, the matched was played in front of a crowd of 93,000 . Uruguay became the first nation to win a World Cup.
It is said that more than a shocking 30,000 Argentines crossed the River Plate to attend the world final on July 30, 1930 in Uruguay.
The Last surviving player from the 1930 World Cup was an Argentinian he died after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa on August 30, 2010. He was age 100.
Furthermore, Uruguay went on to become the champions of the football competition in Olympics of 1924 and 1928.
