COMPETENCE OF MANAGERIAL HEAD OF SCHOOL IN IMPROVING TEACHER PERFORMANCE

Principal managerial competence is needed in education / school. With this kopentensi principals are able to foster the performance of their staff / board of teachers well .. This research is generally aimed at describing the preparation of programs, implementation and evaluation improve the performance of teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Darul Imarah Aceh Besar District. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach and data collection with observation, interview and documentation technique. Subjects in this study are; principals, vice principals, teachers councils, school committees and parents. The results obtained from the research are: (1) Teacher performance improvement program at SMP Negeri 1 Darul Imarah is arranged based on the result of musyawarah, so that the learning tool planning toolkit, designing and utilizing instructional media, the utilization of ICT in learning, the development of the educator and the education according to the need , improving services in supporting learning activities, planning and follow-up the evaluation of the implementation of learning activities. (2) Implementation of the program to improve teachers' performance in SMP Negeri 1 Darul Imarah Kabupaten Aceh Besar with the division of tasks in accordance with their ability and expertise by applying lesson study approach among teachers. (3) Evaluation of teacher performance improvement program at SMP Negeri 1 Darul Imarah of Aceh Besar District is not yet in accordance with schedule and implemented naturally and there is no clear and measurable evaluation instrument. Evaluation activities are usually done once a year at the end of the school year. The evaluation results have not been done in the form of documentation of reporting of principal managerial activities.
