🐍 The Seven Deadly Sins Of Steemit: What NOT To Do! 🐍

Steemit is such a wonderful place to be, full of creativity, positivity, learning, sharing and caring! But like any social media platform, sometimes people tend to annoy others. In a place like Steemit where your 'Reputation Score' is important, you won't last long with bad behaviour, so I though I would compile a list of the things you should avoid while you're here:

❌ 1. Spamming People In The Comments. ❌

It's easy to tell if people are spamming you in the comments by going to their page and looking at the last few comments they have left. As you can see for this guy they are all the same.. Hmm... wonder why his reputation score is only 15?

❌ 2. Plagarism: ❌

As it says in the Steemit bible, thou shalt only create original content. Some people work hard on here to create recipes, take great photographs, write great stories, videos etc. So when you just copy and paste a recipe, image or article straight from somewhere else on the internet or on Steemit, it is really annoying for those people who work hard. There is a little bot called Cheetah who will look for plagarised work and will leave a comment like this with a link to the original work:

3. ❌ Posting Links in General Chat. ❌

The General Chat section on SteemitChat is for... well.. "general chat" I guess. If you want to promote your posts you can go to the post promotion section.. or if you are new I would recommend setting up Minnow Support as well!

4. ❌ Too Much Self-Upvoting ❌

Everyone has the right to upvote on their own posts if they want to. Sometimes when you are just starting out here it's good to do that. If you were to do it I would only recommend using 1-2 of your votes a day o yourself and using the rest on other people.

You have 10 good votes a day and we are a community, so try and vote on 10 good posts that you think deserve it.

5. ❌ Never Checking In with Your Followers ❌

Some people on here have a LOT of followers. But most people have a manageable enough amount where they can still reply to each person who leaves a comment on their post. Steemit is a social network, so you need to interact with other people. Try and go through the list of people who follow you once in a while, check out their posts and show them some love with your upvotes as well!

6. ❌ Bitching and Complaining ❌

I hate whingey people on Steemit. I work in customer service and I listen to people bitch, whinge and complain all day because their sense of entitlement has sent them a little loopy. I'm not saying that you can't have insecurities that you can express and ask for advice, but seriously when I see titles like this:

and then in that post there are sentences like this...

I'm just like, come on, bro! Lighten up! Guess how much money that post made?

❌ 7. Don't Get So Disheartened That You Leave and Never Return! ❌

Steemit is an awesome place to be and even though it can seem overwhelming and daunting at first, there is so much support out there!
